This is it! The precious last few minutes of Hanukah. We’ve eaten the donuts and latkes. We’ve played with the dreidels and lit the candles. We’ve prayed and prayed and prayed some more. For some, they can’t wait for it to end so they can get back to life. But, does it really end? Not if you did it right… In Hebrew, Hanukah shares the same letters as Hinuch – Education. So every Hanukah we are supposed to dedicate ourselves to educating the next generation, our family, our children, our students. If you do Hanukah right it is a springboard to getting deeper and more knowledgeable about all the things we Jews stand for. And, understanding the things we do not stand for and why. Hanukah catapults us into learning more, growing more, and doing more to bring Judaism to life. These waning moments of this special time are to reflect on what we have learned until now, and what we need to do to learn more for the future. We should all be blessed to take the message of Hanukah forward and make it a priority to educate ourselves and everyone around us into the most knowledgeable Jews that we can be! Happy Hanukah!!
